The mission of John F. Kennedy Elementary School is to empower our students from diverse backgrounds to achieve high academic standards, gain a positive self concept, and demonstrate responsible citizenship.
The focus of the staff of Kennedy Elementary is on our students. Therefore, the goal of everything we do is to further the education and total development of each child. We use our belief statements to guide our decisions about the educational process:
*Children are our first priority.
*The whole child should be considered.
*All children can and should acquire skills necessary to become productive members of society.
*Learning should be positive and meaningful.
*All children should develop good character.
*Community involvement should be encouraged by the school.
*Teachers, parents, and the community share the responsibility of the school's mission.
We continually strive to improve the quality of education that we provide our students. We value the input of our stakeholders and seek to have a high level of communication with our school community.
There are a variety of ways for parents to become involved in school activities. Working as a volunteer in the school is just one of many possibilities. Parents are encouraged to become active PTA members and to serve on school committees. Parents can also be a great support to their child by helping with homework and by reading with him/her each and every day.
